BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Alexandra Cheira<\/strong> | Alexandra Cheira is a researcher at ULICES (University of Lisbon Centre for English Studies, Portugal). She has published articles and book chapters on A. S. Byatt\u2019s fiction, The One Thousand and One Nights<\/em>, seventeenth-century French conteuses<\/em> and Victorian women wonder tale writers. She is the editor of (<\/em>Re)Presenting Magic, (Un)Doing Evil: Of Human Inner Light and Darkness <\/em>(Oxford, Inter-Disciplinary Press, 2012). She has recently translated A. S. Byatt\u2019s \u201cCold\u201d and has written an introduction to the tale, included in a publication of the project \u201cStorytelling\u201d in her research centre.<\/p>\n

Diana Marques<\/strong> | Diana Marques has a degree and a MA in English and American Studies from Universidade de Lisboa, Faculdade de Letras with a dissertation on English medieval literature and culture. She is a researcher at ULICES (University Lisbon Centre for English Studies) and is currently working on her Ph.D. project about Fantasy literature.<\/p>\n

Jorge Martins Trindade<\/strong>\u00a0 | Jorge Martins Trindade (Portalegre, 1968) teaches Portuguese Language at Lisbon\u2019s School of Communication and Media Studies (Lisbon Polytechnic Institute) since 1999. Before that, he wrote literary criticism for the daily newspaper P\u00fablico<\/em>. He has a Master\u2019s degree in Modern and Contemporary Portuguese Literature with a thesis on Ant\u00f3nio Patr\u00edcio\u2019s symbolist fiction and he is currently preparing a PhD thesis on E\u00e7a de Queir\u00f3s.<\/p>\n

Ljubica Matek<\/strong> | Ljubica Matek holds the position of an Assistant Professor at the Department of English at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Osijek, Croatia, where she teaches undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate courses in literature. Her teaching and research interests include fantastic and Gothic literature, adaptations of literary texts into film, and contemporary representations of family in literature. She has published papers both in Croatia and abroad, and co-edited a collection of essays, Facing the Crises: Anglophone Literature in the Postmodern World<\/em> (2014).<\/p>\n

Lu\u00eds Filipe Silva <\/strong>\u00a0| Lu\u00eds Filipe Silva is a Portuguese Science Fiction author of short-story collections and novels, winner of the 1991 Caminho award for original SF, editor of Portuguese and Brazilian anthologies on SF and pulp fiction, translator of work by Swanwick, Leiber and Bear.<\/p>\n

Milan Jovanovi\u0107<\/strong> | Milan Jovanovi\u0107, a PhD student and investigator within the Centre for English Studies at the School of Arts and Humanities, University of Lisbon, defended his M.A. thesis entitled \u201cChristabel<\/em> \u2013 The Nemesis of Coleridge and Wordsworth\u2019s Friendship\u201d in 2009 at the same faculty. His academic interests include: Coleridge, English Romanticism, Poetry, Supernatural, Vampirism.<\/p>\n

Nuno Marques<\/strong> | Nuno Marques is a PhD Student at Mid Sweden University. He is currently working on ecopoetry, poetic form, material ecocriticism and site-specificity.<\/p>\n

Valter Ventura<\/strong> | (Lisboa 1979) holds a degree in Art History by the Faculdade de Letras da Universidade de Lisboa. In 2005 he completed the Advanced Course in Photography by\u00a0 Ar.Co \u2013 Centro de Arte e Comunica\u00e7\u00e3o Visual, with a scholarship awarded by Banco Esp\u00edrito Santo. Currently, he is a specialist professor of the Higher Course of Photography at the Instituto Polit\u00e9cnico de Tomar and also collaborates with Ar.Co, Atelier de Lisboa, and Faculdade de Belas-Artes de Lisboa. In 2008, he participated (alongside Jos\u00e9 Nuno Lamas) in the Photography Course by the 2\u00ba Programa de Criatividade e Cria\u00e7\u00e3o Art\u00edstica in Funda\u00e7\u00e3o Calouste Gulbenkian. Between 2012 and 2014, he was responsible by the photographic documentation at Carpe Diem \u2013 Arte e Pesquisa. He is a resident artist at HANGAR \u2013 Centro de Investiga\u00e7\u00e3o Art\u00edstica. He is represented by KUBIKGALLERY (Porto).<\/p>\n
