Her research spans fantasy, science fiction, terrorism, space, science and abjection in film and television. Korpua acts as Chair of The Finnish Society for Science Fiction and Fantasy Research and as an Editor-in-chief for <em>Fafnir \u2013 Nordic Journal of Science Fiction and Fantasy Research<\/em>. In 2015, Korpua published his doctoral dissertation in J. R. R. Tolkien\u2019s literary worldbuilding (<em>Mythopoetics of J. R. R. Tolkien\u2019s Legendarium<\/em>, University of Oulu Press) and in 2016 a study on <em>The Bible and Literature<\/em> (<em>Alussa oli Sana &#8211; Raamattu ja kirjallisuus<\/em>, Avain). Co. In this same year he received a FLAD scholarship that allowed him to continue his studies at SVA, New York. In 2010 he completed the Master of Fine Arts at <a href=\"http:\/\/esad.cr\/\">ESAD.CR<\/a>. He held the course of Photography PGCCA (1<sup>st<\/sup> Edition) and is currently undertaking a PhD in Communication Studies with Funda\u00e7\u00e3o FCT scholarship. Since 2007, he teaches several courses in Photography, Digital Animation and Film Degrees at Universidade Lus\u00f3fona. In 2016 he founded \u201cH\u00c9LICE &#8211; Fot\u00f3grafos que usam a fotografia\u201d.
